Hosted VoIP for Business
Hosted VoIP for Small Business
Business phone systems are central to the core business activities of all small to medium sized organisations in the UK. No matter how advanced systems become people will always need to talk to customers and suppliers to ensure that “personal touch” is given. The quality of voice calls will always be important and cannot be compromised in any way, as the phone remains one of the most important business tools in any company.
Using a hosted VoIP solution your view of how and where you work will change forever and all preconceptions of how a phone system works and is supported needs to be forgotten. The cloud based, VoIPlicity, PBX means that you don’t need to invest in expensive hardware, we have already done that.
Hosted VoIP for Remote Workers
Remote offices and home workers can be setup and connected from anywhere in the world making them part of your phone system and business. As with any VoIP system all ‘internal’ calls are free, but with our hostd VoIP system it does not matter where your co-workers are located. They can be in the same office, working from Home, in a hotel room, or in another country. Overseas offices or partners are all connected in the same manner and can even be given a local telephone number.
All you need is an ADSL line in each location. i.e. Dedicated ADSL in the Office for VoIP, with home workers using their standard Broadband line for both phone and their PC. You can find out how to test the quality of your ADSL line by reading the ComputerSpot Blog entry on Broadband Quality testing.

Typical Costs for Hosted VoIP
With hosted VoIP you pay for what you need.
- Outbound lines are £8.00 a month
- Extensions are £1.00 a month
Example Business setup for 10 users:
- 3 concurrent outbound lines
- Unlimited in bound lines
- 6 people in the office
- 4 Home workers
3 x £8.00 = £24.00 (for the 3 outbound lines + 3 extensions)
7 x £1.00 = £7.00 for the 7 extensions
Total monthly costs = £31.00 plus calls and VAT
As your business expands, you just add extensions and configure them into hunt groups and business groups. Occasionally you will need to add additional outbound lines, but you don’t need to have purchased the ‘Right Size’ of PBX for your business, you can just add the items you need when you need them.

Frequently Asked Questions about VoIP
Below are some of the FAQ’s that we get about VoIP Phone Systems for Small and Medium Size businesses. In addition to the FAQ’s we also have a VoIP Blog
Phone Systems
Answer:
Absolutely – SystemAssure Voice simply uses a Broadband connection to provide your phone system.
It starts at just £8:00 a month, which allows you to have a single outbound line and unlimited incoming lines. Additional Extensions can be added at £1.00 a month
So you could start your business by having 2 people working from their homes, with a single business number. Then when the business grows and you need an office just pick the phones up and move them to the office, no need to get BT involved with moving phone numbers. As the business grows we just add more phones as required, you never have to ‘upgrade’ a PBX as we have already made that capital investment for you.
Answer:
Yes you can. This is a simple process known as ‘Porting’ and usually only take a week or so, depending on who is your current telephony provider.
We do not charge for Porting phone numbers into the SystemAssure VoIP, hosted phone system.
Answer:
We don’t anticipate that anyone will outgrow our hosted phone system.
Scalability - SystemAssure Voice will support hundreds of users in multiple locations, so it is very unlikely that you would ever out grow the scalability of the system.
Features - We provide all the same facilities that an enterprise PBX has, so you will never lack the features or facilities that a business requires. In fact we will continue to enhance and add to the functionality available on a regular basis. We can provide Voice Mail, Voice Recording, Call Attendants, Call Transfer, hunt groups etc.
Answer:
General
- We provide managed Broadband services, so we will know about most problems before you are aware of them.
- Our Broadband services are business grade to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly.
- Even if power to your office were to fail completely you would still be able to access all of our services, including phones and email from any other location with an Internet connection.
Broadband
We can, optionally, provide resilient Broadband connections, so if a single line were to fail it would automatically switch over to a secondary line. In addition to Broadband resilience we can also provide standby connections over 3G. So there are lots of options to ensure that you can continue to work.
Phone
If the local Internet connection to your office were to fail for any reason your calls would be diverted to a backup number. This could be mobile numbers, another office or an analogue line. If the calls weren’t answered at the backup number they would go through to voicemail.
For example – we have a hunt group which spans phones in 2 locations. If both of these were to fail at the same time the calls are set to present to an emergency ‘mobile number’.
We will help to configure the numbers and hunt groups to ensure that no calls get lost.
You are better off with a hosted service, as even if your building were to loose power completely the hosted Exchange system will always receive your email. The Exchange solution is hosted in multiple Business Grade Data Centers, providing resiliency and redundancy for the data and connection.
